He is an athlete with cerebral palsy, which means he mostly uses crutches. Jonnie Peacock made history in 2011 by becoming the first Paralympic athlete to win an event at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. The race was also his first Olympic victory for Team GB.
By winning, Jonnie Peacock has broken a barrier for disabled athletes on sports teams across all ages and abilities. As an 18-year-old, he became just one of 11 British athletes to have won medals at both the Commonwealth and the Olympics. He also broke another record that year by becoming the youngest winner.
